In this little article, I just wanted to talk about nerd fonts, how to install them and the one I like.

Nerd fonts?

Nerd fonts are, as the name implies, fonts that we can add to our system to make it look prettier. The majority of them also include ligatures and tons of icons (they’re useful if you’re using something like DWM or i3 and want to display certain icons in your bar).

If you want to download a nerd font you should go to this website: https://www.nerdfonts.com/font-downloads and select the one you prefer.

How to install it

Installing a nerd font is pretty simple, you just have to click on the download button for any nerd font that you choose, it’s the button shown in the picture below…

After that, you just have to unzip the font files and move them to ~/.fonts, you can even create subfolders like this:

The font I like

My favorite as of right now is Fira Code Nerd Font (yeah, very original).
